Slant 6 - Soda Pop-Rip Off (1994)
In my opinion this album is one of the most underrated album in the Grunge/Riot Grrl scene. The songs on this release vary from aggressive punk noise to soft melodic implosions of emotion. Notable tracks on this album are Time Expired, Double Edged Knife, What Kind of Monster Are You?, and Thirty-Thirty Vision. The last two aforementioned tracks were also available in '93 as part of a three track single. This is an amazing release from a band that should have taken over the punk rock world. On a side note I have also mastered the album for your listening pleasure. Cheers!

Calamity Jane - Martha Jane Canary (1992)
1992 was considered by many to be the pinnacle of the Riot Grrl movement which included bands such as Hole, Bikini Kill, Babes in Toyland, Slant 6, Huggy Bear, Fifth Column, and many others. One of the "many others" was the band Calamity Jane. Although they only released one LP and appeared on a handful of compilations (such as the phenomenal "Stars Kill Rock" in 1993) they had far reaching influence on the music community. One interesting story involving this band occurred on October 30, 1992 when they opened for Nirvana in Argentina and survived a macho, disrespectful crowd. This is their only LP. Enjoy this recording, turn down the treble a bit, and try to keep the revolution civil!

A Mission of Preservation
In the coming weeks I intend to post albums that are either out of print or nearing extinction. Most of the included recordings will be from independent labels and will cover several genres including punk, grunge, riot grrl, and metal. This is a labor of love for me because I want to see these recordings circulated among people who will appreciate them.
